Health and Emerging Issues
A natural disaster, accidental event, disease outbreak, or terrorist attack involving the air we breathe, the food we eat, or the water we drink has the potential to affect a great number of people.
But regardless of the cause of an emergency or emerging health issue, the science and protocols needed to respond effectively are virtually identical. When we improve our knowledge, readiness and defenses, we contribute to the ongoing safety of our citizens, the security of our food supply, the protection of our environment and the profitability of our agriculture.
The Health and Emerging Issues website under Cooperative Extension and Outreach (College of Agriculture) is designed to provide easy access to authoritative information on a wide variety of potential and emerging issues affecting animals, plants, human health, food safety, and the environment.
