The International Center for the Study of Terrorism is international in scope and multidisciplinary in its approach. With its hub at Penn State, the Center is built around a core of universities that are members of the Worldwide Universities Network, and uses the capabilities of this network to enhance collaboration and communication on a global basis; research groups from a number of additional universities and institutes will also be part of this Center. Theories, methods, findings, and perspectives from a wide range disciplines, including psychology, sociology, criminology, political science, strategic studies, religious studies, anthropology, mathematical modeling, risk assessment, etc. are applied to studying terrorism and to developing effective means of responding to the threat of terrorism.
