• Anechoic Chamber and Laboratory Facility
  Provides the environment to encourage research between Penn State, industry, and government agencies to solve the many types of communication systems (radio) interoperability issues currently plaguing emergency first responders in America.
• Applied Research Laboratory
  As a DoD-designated, Navy UARC (University Affiliated Research Center), the Applied Research Lab serves as a university center of excellence in Defense science and technologies, with a focus in naval missions and related areas.
• BioNanoMaterials Laboratory
  Developing a sensing platform that uses organophosphorus hydrolases (OPH) to detoxifiy a broad range of organophosphate pesticides and the chemical warfare agents.
• Center for Chemical Ecology
  Researchers explore the role chemistry plays in predator--prey, parasite--host, herbivore--plant, virus--vector, and intraspecific interactions.
• Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics
  CIDD is a "virtual" center bringing together theoreticians and empirical scientists in a wide variety of disciplines to collaborate and innovate in the area of infectious disease research.
• Center for Information Assurance
  Conducts a broad-based research on various aspects of information and cyber security.
• Center for Info and Communications Technology Research (CICTR)
  Generating solutions to current and future technical challenges in the Transmission, Storage, Transformation, Switching, Networking and Security of Digital Information.
• Center for Network Centric Cognition and Information Fusion
  A new center is being established at Penn State. We will apply multi-discipline and inter-discipline research to address large-scale applications such as homeland security, national defense, medical diagnosis and environmental monitoring.
• DETER Laboratory
  Effort to create, maintain, and support a collaborative and vendor-neutral experimental environment for cyber-security research.
• Gas Dynamics Laboratory
  Conducts research on gas dynamics, flow visualization, optical flow diagnostics, and a variety of thermal-science topics important to national security.
• International Center for the Study of Terrorism
  In the Worldwide Universities Network, theories, research from a wide range disciplines are applied to studying terrorism and to developing effective means of responding to the threat of terrorism.
• Indoor Environment Center
  Scope includes building security from intentional and unintentional large scale releases of toxic and infectious agents.
• Institute for Non-Lethal Defense Technologies
  Supports development of non-lethal options for both military and civilian law enforcement.
• Intelligent Agents Laboratory
  Development of intelligent agent technologies--specifically, team-based agents and market-based agents--is the focus of this lab.
• Navigation & Research Development Center
  Conducts research for new technology navigation sensors and systems for application in air, marine, and land vehicles.
• Networking and Security Research Center
  The NSRC provides a research and education community at Penn State for professors, students, and collaborators from industry interested in networking and security.
• North-East Visualization & Analytics Center
  One of five Regional Visualization and Analytics Centers (RVACs) which is bringing academic expertise to the nation's efforts to discover information that may warn officials of a terrorist attack.

  The focus of this lab is the interdisciplinary work domain of emergency crisis management/crisis planning.
